Red White and Blue Cocktail

Five Fourth of July Worthy Cocktails

Red White and Blue CocktailThis year, you’re throwing the ultimate Fourth of July bash at your Suwanee apartment. Before you head out to see the area’s magnificent fireworks, impress your guests with one or more of these delicious and patriotic cocktails:

Adult Snow Cones

Snow cones were an iconic childhood treat, but now, you can bring them into adult summer fun. All you need is vodka, snow cone syrup (colored versions can be found at any liquor or even grocery store) and shaved ice. Serve in paper cups and you’ll feel an instant wave of nostalgia.

Cherry Mimosa

This deliciously fruity drink will be a hit. Combine a cup of pineapple juice with maraschino cherry juice and champagne. Garnish with a strawberry or maraschino cherries.

Patriotic Daiquiri

Use a strawberry daiquiri mix from your favorite liquor store. Add whipped cream on top and blue cocktail syrup to create a colorful beverage that fits your party’s patriotic theme. Serve it in a mason jar for an extra American feel. Garnish with a strawberry if desired.

Triple Berry Smoothie

If you or your guests prefer a non-alcoholic drink, there’s nothing like a frozen smoothie on a hot day, especially if it’s red, white, and blue. All layers will feature ice cubes and yogurt, but for the blue layer, you’ll add blueberries, and the red layer requires strawberries and pitted cherries. No fruit needed for the white layer! Garnish with a few blueberries, strawberries, cherries, or all three.

Gin and Tonic

If you’re a pro at whipping together a good ol’ gin and tonic, you should be all set for the Fourth of July. All you need is a few appropriately colored berries to toss in each drink as a garnish. This is the ultimate solution for a sophisticated Independence Day.

You can quickly transform your kitchen and dining area into party central with the right drinks and decor. Find mason jars or patriotic cocktail glasses. Little flags on toothpicks add a nice touch. Get ready for a memorable Independence Day!

Food on Grill

How to Host a Summer BBQ

Food on GrillIt is that time of year that you want to start doing things outside with your friends and family. One of those activities is hosting a summer BBQ and if you want to be the host, there are a few things you need to do to make sure that everything goes as planned and that everyone has a lot of fun. Use these tips to make sure that your summer BBQ at our community’s convenient on-site picnic/grilling area goes exactly as planned.

How to Host a Summer BBQ

  • Designate a grill master. You cannot host and stay on the grill at the same time so make sure you find someone who doesn’t mind manning the grill for you while you take care of other things for the get-together.
  • Plan for food and drinks. You should make sure you have enough food and drink options for everyone. You should have more than just soda, too. Have some water available. Also, think of the condiments you will need and any side dishes such as chips or potato salad. Finally, do not forget your plates, cups, and utensils. These are must-haves for a summer BBQ and you don’t want to forget this key component.
  • Send out invites. Don’t forget to tell people when to be there and where to go. You can’t have a summer get-together without letting people know where to go. If you want people to bring things, make sure you tell them this at the time you invite them so they have time to prepare everything or tell you if they will be unable to bring anything.
  • Get some music ready. What makes a good time even better? Some great music. You do not have to make a playlist, either. Just make sure you have a music app hooked up to your sound system and get the beats going.

This summer, you may also be looking for the best place to call home. If you are, then you should take a look at our apartments in Suwanee. We have a lot of different floor plans to choose from. Call us or stop in today so you can take a look at what we have available and view your new home.

Green Bike Against Wall

Practice These 5 Eco-Friendly Tips on Earth Day

Green Bike Against WallEarth Day is April 22. Are you looking for ways to participate in this exciting event in your apartments in Suwanee, Georgia? So far, over 200 million people in 141 countries are taking this day to do their part for the environment. Why not take advantage of this day to kick start your green living habits? Here are five eco-friendly tips to get you started.

1. Clean Produce With Vinegar Instead of Water

Vinegar is a natural antibacterial agent. You can save on water by cleaning your fruits and vegetables with a spray bottle of vinegar instead of rinsing them under the sink.

2. Invest in Reusable Tote Bags

The number of plastic bags that are used once and thrown away has grown out of control. You’ll be more likely to avoid using plastic bags from the grocery store if you invest in several reusable tote bags. If you’re crafty, you can even make some custom tote bags by hand!

3. Burn Candles Instead of Electricity

At night in your apartment at The Pointe at Suwanee Station, consider adding some ambiance by burning scented jar candles instead of a lamp. You’ll be able to enjoy the fragrance while you help save the earth.

4. Ride Instead of Drive

Take Earth Day for a spin on your bicycle. The weather in Suwanee is warm enough on April 22 that you’ll be comfortable riding to work instead of driving. You’ll save fuel and give your body an extra workout.

5. Get a Reusable Water Bottle

If you haven’t already, get yourself a reusable water bottle for trips away from your Suwanee apartment. It’s been proven that the water in plastic bottles is no better than regular tap water. Besides, you’ll help by reducing the number of plastic bottles in landfills all over the world.

These eco-friendly tips for Earth Day are just a handful of ways you can participate in this important day. The more people who join in the effort to save our natural resources, the more likely the efforts are bound to succeed. Basketball Shoes and Basketball

4 Tips for Hosting A College Basketball Tournament Viewing Party

Basketball Shoes and BasketballIt’s time to get some friends together to really have some fun. College basketball is the perfect excuse to invite a few people over to your apartment in Suwanee, GA, near Downtown Atlanta. Most often, these are relaxed events with just the need for a TV and some place to relax. And, at the Pointe at Suwanee Station, you’ll have access to the amenities you need.

Planning for Basketball Watch Parties

Whether you are planning to watch just one game or several of them during college basketball tournament week, you’ll need to have at least a few tips to help make this type of gathering a success. Here’s where to start.

  1. You don’t have to spend a lot on food. One option is to ask each person to bring something to share. Another is to just order some pizza and make a few appetizers. You don’t have to go all out for this type of party.
  2. Be sure there’s plenty of space to sit. But, don’t expect everyone to stay seated. Tournaments can get wound up when the scores are close. For that reason, make sure there’s plenty of room for people to spread out.
  3. Keep the alcohol in check. If you plan to serve it, keep the amount available limited. Not only does this make for a better experience for your guests, but it helps with avoiding a big mess to clean up the next day.
  4. Have something else to do as well. If only half of the couples you are inviting really want to watch the big game, give the others something else to do. Have some board games available. Have a separate TV available for watching a favorite new show or movie. You can even just have a quiet place to sit and talk available.

Making it all come together doesn’t have to be hard to do. Invest in the right amenities and you are all set to have fun.

Ready to Have a Place to Show Off?

If you’ve longed to throw your own basketball tournament parties, you can. Give our team a call to learn more about available floor plans at The Pointe at Suwanee Station. We can help you.
